► Essential oil of Artemisia indica contains 43 chemical constituents. ► The essential oil and its major constituents exhibited potent antimicrobial activity. ► The essential oil also exhibited potent cytotoxic activity against four cancer cell lines. ► The essential oil possessed radical scavenging activity.
