Evaluation of the antioxidant activity of a series of 4-methylcoumarins using different testing methods

► A series of more than 20 4-methylcoumarins has been synthesised. ► Their antioxidant activity using few different testing methods has been examined. ► All studied compounds showed activity comparable to Trolox. ► Observations were made with regard to structural features of the compounds.
