Wine extracts from Sardinian grape varieties attenuate membrane oxidative damage in Caco-2 cell monolayers
چکیده انگلیسی
► Phenolic extracts from red and white wines were tested against tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBH) oxidising action. ► TBH caused the disruption of epithelial integrity in Caco-2 cell monolayers. ► Membrane lipid peroxidation was highlighted by malondialdehyde, hydroperoxides and 7-ketocholesterol detection. ► A direct antioxidant action of the extracts was pointed out. ► Extracts exerted a comparable activity in spite of differences in their composition.
