Development of a highly sensitive and specific monoclonal antibody-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for determination of doxycycline in chicken muscle, liver and egg

► This is the first report of similar methods to detect doxycycline developed based on a specific monoclonal antibody. ► The modified simplified ELISA in this paper only took about 1 h with 2 washings and 2 incubation steps. ► Compared with ELISA methods developed in the past, the modified ELISA could help saving time without losing sensitivity. ► Good correlations of the results obtained by modified ic-ELISA and HPLC were observed in chicken muscle and liver.
