Antimelanogenic and antioxidative effects of residual powders from Shochu distillation remnants

► Powder from Shochu distillation remnants (PSDR) decreases melanin in B16 cells. ► PSDR decreases cellular tyrosinase activity without cytotoxicity. ► Antioxidative capacity of PSDR correlates with inhibition of melanin biosynthesis. ► Polyphenols are active components of PSDR for antimelanogenesis of B16 cells.
