The history of establishment of the national park network in countries of the Asian-Pacific region

The history of emergence and evolution of the network of national parks in countries of the Asian-Pacific region (APR) is outlined. An analysis is made of the purpose and primary objective of Russia's national parks. The prospects of the establishment of national parks in the Far East, and the possibilities of promotion of ecotourism in them are considered.
