Spectroscopic Evidence for an Oxazolone Structure of the b2 Fragment Ion from Protonated Tri-Alanine

Infrared spectroscopy unambiguously shows that the b2 fragment ion produced by CID from protonated tri-alanine has an oxazolone, and not a diketopiperazine, structure.
