Proteomic characterization of thymocyte-derived microvesicles and apoptotic bodies in BALB/c mice

► This is the first comparative mass spectrometry analysis of thymus derived microvesicles and apoptotic bodies. ► We revealed a substantial overlap between protein compositions of two vesicle populations. ► We demonstrated the presence of autoantigens key T-cell regulators and molecules with high immunological relevance.
