A comparison between MALDI-MS and CE-MS data for biomarker assessment in chronic kidney diseases

► We compared performance of CE-MS with MALDI-MS in detecting urinary CKD biomarkers. ► Data cross-talk was established between the two platforms. ► CE-MS approach resulted in superior performance. ► MALDI-MS identified CKD patients at reduced accuracy, but reduced cost and time. ► Prescreening with MALDI-MS could be employed before high resolution CE-MS analysis.
