Snake venomics of the pit vipers Porthidium nasutum, Porthidium ophryomegas, and Cerrophidion godmani from Costa Rica: Toxicological and taxonomical insights

► Venom proteomes of the pit viper snakes Porthidium nasutum, P. ophryomegas, and Cerrophidion godmani were analyzed. ► The observed proteomes corroborate the determined in vitro and in vivo activities. ► The two Porthidium venoms were relatively similar, differing from C. godmani. ► Venomic analyses agree with the current taxonomical status of C. godmani.
