Recovering incomplete data using Statistical Multiple Imputations (SMI): A case study in environmental chemistry

► SMI was applied to an environmental dataset containing missing values. ► The technique was used on both rounded and essential zeros. ► SMI uses a relatively simple procedure, without distorting the data as a whole. ► As a result, standard and multivariate statistical analyses could be applied to the data. ► SMI is suitable for environmental research to deal with natural datasets.
