A practical method for the determination of sulphur in coal samples by high-resolution continuum source flame atomic absorption spectrometry

► Sulphur in coal was determined using a high-resolution continuum source flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer (HR-CS-FAAS). ► Sulphur is determined from the molecular lines of CS generated with actylene/air flame. ► The calibration standards were prepared in sulphuric acid. ► The method was accurate, fast, simple and sensitive.
