Evaluation of carbon deposition behavior on the nickel/yttrium-stabilized zirconia anode-supported fuel cell fueled with simulated syngas

▶ We use 7 syngas to investigate the carbon deposition behavior in Ni/YSZ anode-supported cells. ▶ We find different carbon deposition behavior at different operation temperatures. ▶ We examine the failure process of the Ni/YSZ anode due to carbon deposition phenomenologically. ▶ We conclude two degradation mechanisms for the cell operated at 650 °C and 750 °C, respectively.
