Cost and surface optimization of a remote photovoltaic system for two kinds of panels' technologies

► PV cells (c-Si and HIT) and storage systems have been evaluated in an island context. ► Solutions that minimize the cost and the occupied area have been searched. ► For the short term, there is a strong advantage to use HIT cells rather than c-Si. ► For the mid term, the discrimination between c-Si and HIT cells is less obvious. ► Coupled with Pb-A batteries, the hydrogen is used as a seasonal storage.
