Cubic clusters of indium chalcogenides with 2,2-bipyridine ligand, a comprehensive view of [InQ(phen/bpy)Cl]4 (QÂ =Â S, Se) compounds

► Cubic In4Q4 (Q = S, Se) clusters with bipyridine ligand were synthesized. ► Main-group metal cubanes were prepared by solvothermal technique. ► Charge-transfer was found from cluster to bipyridine ligand.
