Synthesis and characterization of the bimetallic series [S2WS2Fe(NCS)(X)]2-(X=Cl-,NCS-,N3-)

The family of molecular dianions [S2WS2Fe(NCS)(X)]2-(X=Cl-,NCS-,N3-orN3-) has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR, electronic and electrospray mass spectroscopies. This series of compounds was obtained using the lability of the terminal chloro ligands in [S2WS2FeCl2]2−.
