Luminescent dinuclear gold complexes of bis(diphenylphosphano)acetylene

We described the synthesis of dinuclear bis(diphenylphosphano)acetylene gold(I) and gold(III) derivatives. The luminescent dicoordinated chloro gold(I) complex displays an infinite twisted chain by intermolecular gold-gold interactions. The non-emissive tetracoordinated chloro gold(I) complex forms a cage with two gold centres at the apical positions bridged by three rigid diphosphane ligands.
