Synthesis and biological evaluation of farnesylthiosalicylamides as potential anti-tumor agents

Hybrids of farnesylthiosalicylic acid (FTS) with various diamines were synthesized and biologically evaluated. Compound 10f with the strongest anti-proliferative activity could induce tumor cell apoptosis by down-regulating the expression of Bcl-2 and up-regulating Bax and caspase-3 and inhibit the Ras-related signaling pathways in SMMC-7721 cells.
