Synthesis, characterization and Akt phosphorylation inhibitory activity of cyclopentanecarboxylate-substituted alkylphosphocholines

New cyclopentanecarboxylate-substituted alkylphosphocholines have been synthesized and evaluated for Akt phosphorylation inhibitory effects and cytotoxicities against human cancer cell lines. Among synthesized compound 5b showed the most potent Akt phosphorylation inhibition effect and cytotoxicities on against A549, MCF-7 and KATO III cancer cells, which were greater than those of reference compounds, miltefosine, perifosine and edelfosine.
