Synthesis and antimalarial activity of metal complexes of cross-bridged tetraazamacrocyclic ligands

Several metal complexes of macrocyclic polyamines were synthesized and shown to have potent antimalarial activity when compared with their metal-free ligands. The synthesis of Cu complex of dibenzyl cross-bridged cyclam is shown below.
