Bis(oxyphenylene)benzimidazoles: A novel class of anti-Plasmodium falciparum agents

Eight derivatives out of a newly prepared small library of twenty-six bisbenzimidazoles emerged as promising effective agents against Plasmodium falciparum. They were characterized by IC50 values ranging from 190 to 450 nM and selectivity indexes ranging from 92 to more than 450.
