Isolation and structural characterization of the polysaccharide LRGP1 from Lycium ruthenicum

► A homogeneous glycoconjugate is isolated from L. ruthenicum for the first time. ► LRGP1 is composed of Rha, Ara, Xyl, Man, Glc, and Gal, and its MW is 56.2 kDa. ► The carbohydrate-peptide linkage of LRGP1 is O-type. ► LRGP1 is a branched arabogalactan with a backbone composed of (1 → 3)Gal. ► The branches are (1 → 5)Ara, (1 → 2)Ara, (1 → 3)Gal, (1 → 4)Gal and (1 → 2,4)Rha.
