Effects of heat-moisture treatment on normal and waxy rice flours and production of thermoplastic flour materials

► Flours are converted to thermoplastic flour (TPF) by heat-moisture treatment (HMT). ► HMT induces changes in normal and waxy rice flours differently. ► Levels of HMT applied on waxy rice flour are critical for TPF material production. ► A formula for TPF material production and processing conditions are proposed.
