Optimization of inulinase production by a newly isolated Aspergillus tubingensis CR16 using low cost substrates

► Inulinase production by newly isolated fungal strain under SSF. ► Maximum inulinase yield (257 ± 11.4 U/g) was achieved using wheat bran and CSL. ► The enzyme is highly thermostable and active at low pH. ► The crude inulinase hydrolyzed fructose polymer in an exo acting manner. ► Fructose was released as an end product.
