The effect of poly-l-lysine structure on the pH response of polygalacturonic acid-based multilayers

► The effect of crosslinker structure on pH response of PGalA multilayers was studied. ► Increasing crosslinker molecular weight and branching leads to thicker multilayers. ► Partial disassembly over a neutral to acid to neutral pH cycle is observed. ► The lowest molecular weight PLL crosslinker shows the largest irreversible response.
