RGD-conjugated UV-crosslinked chitosan scaffolds inoculated with mesenchymal stem cells for bone tissue engineering

► RGD-conjugated, UV-crosslinked chitosan scaffolds were fabricated. ► Mesenchymal stem cells were seeded in the chitosan scaffolds. ► RGD-incorporation increased cell adhesion and proliferation significantly. ► Calcium deposition was enhanced in the RGD-conjugated scaffolds. ► RGD-conjugated chitosan scaffolds possess potential in bone tissue engineering.
