Modification of cellulosic fiber with polyurethane acrylate copolymers. Part I: Physicochemical properties

► We modified the behavior of cellulose fiber with polyurethane acrylates copolymer (PUACs). ► The PUA copolymers were synthesized by varying diisocyanate structures, polyol and acrylates. ► The synthesized PUACs were characterized with FTIR and applied onto the polyester/cellulosic fabrics. ► The physicochemical properties and abrasion resistance of the synthesized material were studied and discussed. ► The structure of diisocyanates has pronounced effect on the properties and behavior of the treated fabrics.
