Structural characterization of a new dextran with a low degree of branching produced by Leuconostoc mesenteroides FT045B dextransucrase

► The structure of a new dextran produced by L. mesenteroides FT045B was determined. ► Data revealed very similar structure to that of the commercial dextran B-512F. ► The linear chain is composed of d-glucose residues with (97.9%) α-(1,6) linkages. ► The structure presents 2.1% α-(1,3) of branch linkages.
