Graft polymers of eucalyptus lignosulfonate calcium with acrylic acid: Synthesis and characterization

► An increasing amount of eucalyptus lignosulfonate is recovered and greater efforts for its utilization should be pursued. ► Graft copolymers from eucalyptus lignosulfonate and acrylic acid were synthesized. ► Study the effects of reaction conditions on grafting parameters. ► Study the morphological and thermal properties of graft copolymers. ► The phenolic hydroxyl group cannot inhibit acrylic acid polymerization and it participate as an active center.
