Chitosan as a flocculant for pre-hydrolysis liquor of kraft-based dissolving pulp production process

► Two different MWs of chitosan were used as flocculants for lignocelluloses of pre-hydrolysis liquor. ► Formation of complexes and the removal of lignocelluloses were investigated. ► A higher dosage of chitosan was required to obtain the maximum lignin removal than the maximum hemicelluloses removal.
