► A new bis-cyclic monomer with an ethylene carbonate and a thiolactone ring was prepared. ► Reaction of this coupler with diamines resulted in thiol and hydroxyl functional poly(amide urethane)s. ► Post-polymerization modification of thiol functional polycondensates.
