Reactive extrusion of glycerylated starch and starch-polyester graft copolymers

► Reactive extrusion was used to prepare glycerylated thermoplastic starch. ► Influence of maleic anhydride on glycerol grafting on the starch backbone was studied. ► Acetone soxhlet extraction was used to determine the percentage of grafted glycerol. ► Starch-polyester graft copolymers were prepared. ► Grafting between starch and polyesters was determined.
