Synthesis and characterization of novel drug delivery nanoparticles based on polyzwitterionic copolymers

► Polyzwitterionic nanoparticles are synthesized by radical copolymerization in water. ► The change of MDMAPS ratio leads to completely different phase behavior. ► Copolymer 1 presents separately solid nanoparticles with spherical shape. ► Copolymer 2 nanoparticles are hydrogels with tendency of self-assembly. ► The obtained nanoparticles could be used as potential drug delivery systems.
