Synthesis and molecular characterization of polythiophene and polystyrene copolymers: Simultaneous preparation of diblock and miktoarm copolymers

► We report our observations during the synthesis of polystyrene-polythiophene copolymers. ► Synthesis proceeds by combining anionic and oxidative chemical polymerizations. ► Along with the diblock copolymer a miktoarm (PS)2PT star is synthesized. ► The two different products can be easily isolated and studied separately. ► Molecular and morphological characterization confirms the presence of polythiophene.
