Influence of surface properties of polymeric nanoparticles on their membrane affinity

► Biodegradable polymeric particles were prepared by nanoprecipitation. ► Physicochemical and surface properties were characterized. ► Membrane affinity of nanoparticles was evaluated in relation to surface composition. ► Increased membrane affinity was achieved by adding charged polymeric stabilizer.
