Modified carbon paste electrodes for Cu(II) determination

► The new ionophore efficiently synthesized and applied for construction copper selective electrode. ► The proposed electrodes are superior to previously reported copper electrode in term of sensitivity, selectivity and linear range. ► Performance of electrode significantly improved via addition of nanoparticles or MWCNT to electrode composition. ► The proposed method gives very low detection limits and good S.D.s and can be applied to the determination of this ion.
