Behaviour of alumina-coated 304L steel in a Waste-to-Energy plant

► The behaviour of the coated pieces was better than that of the non-coated ones. ► Tests under industrial conditions (Incinerator of Limoges, France). ► No trace of calamine or gaseous species was detected in the porosity of coatings. ► Only poor results, but coating process seems not to be questioned. ► The origin of these results lies in the difference of CTE of the two materials.
