Deoxygenation of microalgal oil into hydrocarbon with precious metal catalysts: Optimization of reaction conditions and supports

▸ For the transportation fuels production, deoxygenation of pyrolysis oil from microalgae using precious metal catalysts was investigated. ▸ The optimized catalyst for the dexoygenation of model reactant, oleic acid, was 5 wt% Pt/C. ▸ The optimized catalyst, 5 wt% Pt/C, showed reasonable catalytic activity for the deoxygenation of pyrolysis oil.
