Using sparse photometric data sets for asteroid lightcurve studies

► We generated 47,000 synthetic lightcurves to examine the effectiveness of sparse lightcurve data sets. ► We review three general types of asteroids of particular interest. ► Sparse lightcurve data sets will not be able to investigate these types fully. ► Dense lightcurves are needed to supplement sparse lightcurves.
