Care again, care forever? Petite histoire de la mise en place d'un comité d'éthique local à l'ère du Care

Local ethics committees grow in number without any legal framework further than a few lines in the law of the 4 March 2002 relative to patients' rights. Nevertheless, in view of the increase in the number of chronic and aging associated diseases, the interrogations about how to care and its legal and ethical involvements became an everyday preoccupation in hospitals. Cholet's hospital has been leading an active program on how to care for over two years. Its main actions concerns: the organization of debates about complex cases opened to laypeople in the field of care, the redaction of interactive notes increasing the health workers' awareness of the importance of ethics in everyday care as well as the sharing of (legal, conceptual or any other kind of) theoretical information extrapolated from clinical situations.
