Approches philosophiques de la douleur : pour une éthique du sujet

We examine here the notion of pain from the point of view of the patient-physician relationship. For the patient, pain is a unique life experience, while for the physician it is an element of comprehension and management. We also question the currently accepted medical deontology, putting forward other options for an ethical approach which takes into account the duality of medical use of pain.
