Le care, un travail entre production, action et pensée

In this article, we attempt to apply the typology Arendt presented in her book, The Human Condition, to the activity of care. Because care is originally linked to bodily needs, the primary relevancy is thus exclusively within the realm of work. Nevertheless, the professionalization of care activities can evolve either into a production of services, a poiesis according to Arendt's typology, or to an “action with and for another”, clearly a praxis. In our opinion, the important aspect is the social recognition for all those caring for their fellow beings.
