L′éthique médicale à l′épreuve de la sagesse hippocratique

Thiscontribution is aimed for proving that medical art, conceived by Hippocrate,requires, a precise description of the sick person′s constitution and of one′s relation with the environment, where the illness has set in. This doesn′t mean nowadays that the laws of natural sciences are surreptitiously neglected our depreciated, but that they have to be interpreted according to the moving context. This leads to a practice whose ethics are rooted in the very concrete story provided by inquiry on the individual past and by the forecasted probabilities related to it. In this respect, the concept of what is properly possible prevails on the concept of matter of fact, when the chances of the patient to recover and to reach a new balance are close. But finally the success of what is reasonably possible depends from the active involvement of the patient in the therapeutics.
