Molecular characterization of an ABA insensitive 5 orthologue in Brassica oleracea

► BolABI5 gene was dramatically induced by drought stress and exogenous ABA. ► BolABI5 rescued the ABA-insensitive phenotype of Arabidopsis abi5-1. ► BolABI5 localized in the nucleus and possessed trans-activation activity. ► BolABI5ΔbZIP-GFP was observed throughout the cell. ► BolABI5ΔbZIP had low level of trans-activation activity.
