Breath isoprene: Muscle dystrophy patients support the concept of a pool of isoprene in the periphery of the human body

► The finding that muscle may be a source of isoprene in humans is investigated. ► Duchenne muscle dystrophy patients are recruited as prototypic test subjects. ► A >8-fold reduction in breath/blood isoprene compared to healthy adults is seen.
