A novel role of brain-type ACS4 isotype in neuronal differentiation

► We identified a novel brain-type ACS4 isotype mRNAs. ► The brain-type ACS4 isotypes were produced by alternative splicing. ► A novel ACS4 isotype protein was expressed in brain. ► ACS4 induced mRNA level by induction of neuronal differentiation. ► ACS4 knockout inhibited neuronal differentiation induced by NGF in vitro.
