The role of angiopoietin-like protein 2 in pathogenesis of dermatomyositis

► We found that keratinocyte-derived Angptl2 plays roles in the pathogenesis of DM. ► Keratinocyte-specific Angptl2 Tg mice showed skin phenotypes similar to DM patients. ► Angptl2 activates the NF-κB inflammatory cascade in keratinocytes. ► Angptl2 increased expression of proinflammatory cytokines, IL-1β and IL-6.
