► Inhibition of RhoA induces chondrogenesis of mesenchymal cells. ► RhoA does not utilize ROCK/MLC pathway in regulating stress fiber formation. ► Phosphorylation of MLC plays a role in chondrogenesis induction. ► RhoA uses other pathway than ROCK/MLC in the modulation of actin stress fibers.
