CPEB1 modulates lipopolysaccharide-mediated iNOS induction in rat primary astrocytes

► Expression and phosphorylation of CPEB1 is increased by LPS stimulation in rat primary astrocytes. ► JNK regulates expression and phosphorylation of CPEB1 in reactive astrocytes. ► Down-regulation of CPEB1 using siRNA inhibits oxidative stress and iNOS induction by LPS stimulation. ► CPEB1 may play an important role in regulating inflammatory responses in reactive astrocytes induced by LPS.
