Identification of Ski as a target for Aurora A kinase

► It has been suggested that the transcriptional co-regulator Ski plays a role during mitosis. At this stage, Ski is phosphorylated. ► Here, we show that Aurora A kinase is able to phosphorylate Ski in vitro. ► Immunofluorescence, co-immunoprecipitation and in vitro kinase assays showed that Aurora A-Ski interaction takes place at the centrosomes. ► These data identify Ski as a novel target of Aurora A and contribute to understand the role of these proteins in the mitotic process.
